It’s been a while that I’m keeping track of my expenses. I recently found out despite my daily routine has not been changed, I’m spending more than usual. I started double checking where is this money going… and the result was Food.

Let’s take a look at the costs?

  • Food (Restuarants, Bar, Cafe)

It’s obvious that from the first month, after noticing the -116 euros I did not really understand something was going wrong and I just added a budget for it. The outcome was basically spending more. following month I kept the budget the same and tried to spend less … and even though the difference was minus, but I could spend 53 euro less!!

Still, the amount of expenses on the food is a lot, if you work and do not have a home office or not being a remote worker, you have been noticed this numbers or even higher range of them ….

As part of the working and having a job is socializing and team building, probably during the lunchtime you will go out with your colleagues to grab something to eat. This act probably costs you around 8 to 10 euros.

Let’s make a small math:

If you are working part-time like me, for the average of 3 days per week you are spending 4(weeks)*3(days)*(10 euros) = 120 euros!

So basically I was not eating too much or adding another meal to my daily routine, basically, I was eating the same amount but with different price… .

How to solve it?

Mothers: Do not eat out, I cooked for you …

It’s time to make our favorite thing at home “Cooking” 👩‍🍳 . It will lead us to eat healthier, less calories, cheaper and more delicious.

I was looking at the survey that Harvard Magazine published and in the US, the price for the home-made food will be 1.50 $ which if we convert this to euros gonna be 1.20 euros! while now it’s way much cheaper, we could help ourselves with some juice beside the main dish and make it round to 2.50 euros.

Let’s do the math again:

4(weeks)*3(days)*(2.50 euros) = 30euros!

Enjoy Saving Money!
